Roles and responsibility for SCM, Build and Release Engineer, Pune:

Manage all aspects of the overall software and development tools infrastructure for MSC Product:

  • Administer all aspects of the Perforce  and ClearCase code management repository
  • Define, enforce, and manage code promotion policies and procedures
  • Perform code merges and product integration builds.
  • Manage merges between project branches and streams; advise developers regarding best practices
  • Maintain object code, runtime, and product delivery repositories; manage mirror copies in Santa Ana, Ann Arbor, and India development centers
  • Maintain all scripts and tools used for developer builds and debugging
  • Provide user-level build system training and web-based documentation
  • Provide support via email and telephone for users in all MSC development centers and home offices.
Requirements for SCM, Build and Release Engineer, Pune:

3 to 8 years of extensive experience in the Development, Configuration Management, Change Management, Build/Release Management, Project Management and SOX. Extensive experience in Change Management, Process Engineering, Application Packaging, Desktop Integration and web programming. Has Experience in documentation of detailed build configuration, build procedures and change history for releases.

 

• Extensive experience in configuration management and release engineering in multiple projects and multiple-branches environment.

• Experienced in developing and implementing configuration management programs and processes in a fast-paced, aggressive environment.

• Experienced in maintaining build system, automation and smoke test processes. Have good exposure to formulation of Test Plan, System Specification Analysis.

• Extensive experience with Version Control System likes P4 Perforce, Clearcase,.

• Manage source code control of multiple development efforts using Perforce, Rational Clear Case version control tools. Good experience in creating automated build scripts.

• Experience in script programming with Perl, Python, C-shell, Korn shell, or Bourne shell.

 Cloud computing experiences, Design, implement, and maintain automation, and control many of the complex operational functions at Amazon S3, E2C’s data centers.

 

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 6 years working experience in software configuration management using Perforce in a complex environment supporting a large number of developers, including concurrent experience performing code builds and porting of large C/C++/Fortran applications on Windows, Linux, other major UNIX platforms.
  • And 4 years experience in website management and web programming with HTML, Perl CGI, Ant scripts

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

 

  • Advanced knowledge in Perforce  and ClearCase usage and administration
  • Advanced knowledge in Linux ,Windows and other unix porting.
  • Moderate programming ability using C, C++, Fortran, Perl and Python.
  • Moderate experience in authoring web-based documentation and in programming interactive forms using Perl CGI.
  • Moderate experience as a Siebel user; ability to automate Siebel queries and updates using SQL.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with general experience in written and verbal communication.
